Year-long research initiative by NH Business Review editors reveals leaders
across several industries throughout the state
Laurel Adams, President of the Regional Economic Development Center (REDC) was honored by NH Business Review as one of the most influential nonprofit leaders in the second bi-annual New Hampshire 200 list. The New Hampshire 200 is the product of a year-long research initiative by the editors of NH Business Review, resulting in an insightful and engaging look at the state’s most influential business leaders across major industries. NH Business Review will celebrate the New Hampshire 200 during a reception on December 9 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown, and will also be publishing a New Hampshire 200 book detailing the accomplishments of the recipients.
“I’m honored to be recognized in this list of dedicated individuals in New Hampshire,” stated Adams. “I want to thank the NH Business Review and say congratulations to the other recipients. New Hampshire is an amazing place and I’m committed to making a difference in this beautiful state.”
Ms. Adams specializes in helping new and growing small businesses access capital through a variety of sources. Ms. Adams has been REDC’s President for over 13 years and prior to that she was REDC’s Finance Director for eight years. Ms. Adams earned her Certified Economic Developer Certification (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and has spent more than 18 years studying the fields of economic and business development through various national and state programs.
Ms. Adams sits on the Boards of the New Hampshire Alliance of Regional Development Corporations and the NH Economic Development Association (NHEDA). She holds degrees in Business Administration from NH College[BLH1] [BLH2] , and Government and Environmental Studies from Harvard University. In 2021 she completed a Mastering Design Thinking Certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) In addition, she sits on several advisory committees dedicated to economic development, Brownfields cleanup, and workforce housing. Ms. Adams was recognized as the 2012 SBA New Hampshire Financial Services Champion, a member of the 2013 New Hampshire Union Leader 40 under 40, and is a graduate of the Leadership NH Class of 2016.
The New Hampshire 200, first launched two years ago, recognizes business owners and leaders from all corners of the state across major industries, including architecture/engineering/construction, business and professional services, education, energy, finance, healthcare, hospitality, law, manufacturing, media/marketing, nonprofit, real estate, retail, and technology. The New Hampshire 200 book includes personal, career and industry insight for readers, such as business lessons learned, challenges, predictions and more.
