REDC Appoints Two New Board Members in 2016

The Regional Economic Development Center of Southern New Hampshire (REDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dianne Connolly and Nancy Connolly to its Board of Directors. The REDC Board and President Laurel Bistany are excited to have Ms. Connolly as a new Director, as her experience with strategic planning, professional technical assistance, and as a business owner will be an invaluable asset to the organization; and look forward to Ms. Carmer joining the Board as a new Director, whose extensive public service experience will enhance REDC’s mission of community and economic development.

In 1989, Ms. Connolly co-founded Lab Force, Inc., a medical staffing company based in Windham, NH, providing specialized medical staffing throughout much of the United States. Concurrent with her successful 18-year career with Lab Force, Inc., Ms. Connolly served on a variety of educational and community boards, including nine years as a Trustee for The Derryfield School in Manchester, NH, concluding her service with 3 years as Chairman. In 2006, Ms. Connolly established DM Connolly Associates to provide management, strategic planning, and transition planning services to for-profit and nonprofit companies. From 2009 through 2011, Ms. Connolly was hired by the

Boards of Directors for the Greenwich Federation of the United Jewish Appeal, the New Hampshire Musculoskeletal Institute, and the Bronx Charter School for Children to craft and facilitate strategic planning. In 2014, Dianne was hired by Chalk & Vermillion of Greenwich, CT. to facilitate strategic and transitional planning. Ms. Connolly holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree.

Since 2012, Ms. Connolly has served on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army in Concord, NH, served as Secretary for the Windham Economic Development Committee, and as Chairman for the Merrimack Valley chapter of SCORE. The SCORE Association is a nonprofit association that coordinates volunteers, trained to serve as counselors, advisors, and mentors, to aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. These services are offered at no fee, as a community service.

Nancy Carmer has been the Economic Development Program Manager for the City of Portsmouth since 1998 and is a Certified New Hampshire Economic Development Professional and is a graduate of the UNH Economic Development Academy. She serves as a Director on the boards of Granite State Economic Development Corporation, and is a member of the REDC CEDS Steering Committee. She is a past member of the Rollinsford Planning Board and member and president of the Strafford Rivers Conservancy Land Trust. Ms. Carmer has a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Allegheny College and has completed several master degree level courses in economic development and sustainability.
